iPhone ‘Edit Home Screen’ loop!!!

If someone has this behavior in his or her iPhone, the unique solution that I know is go to recover mode and re-install all again and use ziphone for unlock your iPhone.

This is a bug provided when you change your ssh password with firmware 1.1.3 and 1.1.4. So don’t do it!!!

Update: Josep, show me the way fixing without re-install all again.

If you provoked this error by changing the root password using passwd follow this HOWTO to fix it. You’ll be fine as long as you have SSH enabled.

Confirmed Josep’s tip: I changed my password, and after reboot the home screen looped. Via ssh I saw that Springboard was constantly involved in a crash (did not find a system log to make sure, was monitoring via top). After restoring just passwd everything went back to normal.

I’m currently stuck in the edit home screen loop. Basically I used iLiberty to unlock my iphone and the first thing I notice is that vt100 icon and so I clicked in and did the most stupid thing ever –changing the password. I didn’t install ssh on my iphone yet (I tried ssh to my iphone but nothing happens), is there a way to fix it without ssh? Thanks so much if somebody can help!!!
